It is about a million degrees where I live right now, so I’m thinking about our next lovely season: Fall!!

I know it’s hard to think ahead to when it will actually be chilly but here’s a great reason to try:  pre-fall sales.

That’s right, brand new items will be hitting stores this weekend, and in some cases, will be on major sale for a limited time!!

Nordstrom is doing a big pre-fall sale and Piperlime is doing pre-fall sales on shoes only.  Think, brand new Tory Burch boots, $200 off what they will be for the rest of the fall.  (Ahem, but don't buy these in an 8.5; if my size sells out I will cry.)

Besides, last year I spent the majority of fall looking for that "perfect flat boot" and that "perfect trench coat" in the right price range.  I'm getting a head start this year so when the first chilly day finally arrives I don't look at my closet and moan.

Kardashian Kolors

Kardashian Kolors from Nicole by OPI launched on Monday July 11 in NYC! Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, who helped launch the collection, along with Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director are pictured below showing off their oh so pretty nails. The two Kardashian ladies each wore a shade inspired by them from the collection:

I SO LOVE DQ'S BLIZZARDS

Well, one of the items I usually crave for is the Blizzard of DQ. Such tempting feast for the sweet tooth, the blizzard has lots of flavors to choose from and each one is definitely good. And as usual, what sets them apart from the other ice cream houses on town is their serving of the ice cream upside down. Truly they have some of the most delectable ice creams I have tasted. all of them and definitely have my favorites like Chocolate Chips and Oreo. Also I love their Mango Cheesecake among the newer flavors they have. Wow, yummy yummy yum!!!

David Beckham enjoys celebratory dinner with sons

HollywoodNews.com: David and Victoria Beckham just welcomed their first daughter to their family and for the occasion the soccer star decided to take his sons out to celebrate.
David, his sons and some of Victoria’s family reportedly dined at FIG & OLIVE one day after the little girl was born, states UsMagazine.com. It is rumored that most of the diners with David enjoyed steaks and mashed potatoes.
The dinner was reportedly done early, likely so they could go back to the newborn girl and Victoria.

BILL INGRAM ~ DESIGN IN MOUNTAIN BROOK

Owner and architect Bill Ingram designed this 1400 square feet home in Birmingham, Alabama.  The home is in the Mountain Brook area, a prime real estate section in Birmingham. It is a block from Mountain Brook Village, which has great restaurants and shops.

Ingram removed the siding, roof, and windows.  He also replaced the fireplace with stone.  The house now dons cedar shakes and a heavier shake roof.  The doors are glass. 

He painted the hardwood floors with large and small stripes.  The kitchen has been turned into the master bath and walk-in closet.  A tiny kitchen with a built in counter resembling a campaign chest now occupies the space near the living room.  A tiny table sits in the dining room.  To make the home appear larger, Ingram painted almost every room white.  The guest room is a dark color.

Ingram has been collecting furniture for years, mostly English and American, and it fits beautifully into his home.  He added Belgian linen panels from Restoration Hardware on the tester bed.

Japan Struck by Yet Another Powerful Earthquake

A destructive 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the northeastern coast of Japan on Sunday. Tsunami advisories were released shortly after the quake only to be recalled.

As reported by Reuters, Fukushima nuclear plant workers evacuated in order to retreat to higher ground after the earthquake. There has yet to be any reported serious injuries or damage. Tokyo Electric Power assured that there hadn’t appeared to be any surplus damage done to the power plant.

Another pernicious incident at the Fukushima nuclear plant after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that occurred in March is the last thing Japan needs.

The earthquake hit at 9:57 local time and was followed by a tsunami advisory for the majority of northeastern coastline. Roughly off the coast of Japan’s most populous island Honshu in the Pacific ocean lied the epicenter of the quake at an estimated depth of 20 miles.

Officials surmised that the quake could produce waves of heights up to 20 inches which is why an advisory was launched. Upon the arrival of the waves they had been indicated to only be approximately 4 inches so the advisory was recalled.

Strong 6.6 quake hits Philippines-no damage reported

MANILA (Reuters) - A strong earthquake recorded at magnitude 6.2 struck off the coast of the central Philippines early on Tuesday, but officials said they expected no major damage from the tremor.

No tsunami alert was issued.

The Philippine Institute of Vulcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 4:47 a.m. (2047 GMT on Monday) 83 km (51 miles) southwest off Negros island. It said the quake, felt in the island's nearest major city of Sipalay, was shallow at 4 km.

Two aftershocks of 5.7 and 5.5 were recorded in the same area, about 500 km south of the capital Manila. The head of the agency, Renato Solidum, said further aftershocks were likely but no damage was expected.

The U.S. Geological Survey put the initial quake at magnitude 6.6,
